Therefore, it was a much-awaited invitation for wild life enthusiast. The park boasts multiple characteristics, from Coastal belts, natural lakes, scrublands, dense forest it is an ideal home for wildlife. 31 species of mammals exist in Wilpattu National Park and the star attraction been the Leopard and Sloth Bear. Safari’s at the park is recommended either early morning or late afternoon as during the extreme heat of the afternoon, the animals tend to venture deep into the forest for shelter and we believe a good old afternoon nap. The park is so large, we generally would recommend our clients to spend the full day inside the park (with packed lunch) in order to fully experience its beauty.
